Candied Pecans
If you can keep these for longer than five minutes, they have a multitude of uses! The Smart Oven® Air Fryer Pro bakes them into irresistible crunchy nut treats with a little chili kick. Decorate cakes and muffins, add to a cheeseboard or serve with an ice cold beer. Sprinkle on cinnamon scrolls, add to an ice cream sundae or put them in a pretty box as a holiday gift. Keeping them long enough to do anything with…well now that’s the hard part.

Ingredients
Measurements:
½ cup dark brown sugar
2 tsp kosher salt
½ tsp ground cinnamon
Pinch cayenne pepper
1 large egg white
1 lb pecan halves
Instructions
- 1Insert wire rack in rack position 6. Select BAKE/300°F/CONVECTION/25 minutes and press START to preheat oven. Line the roasting pan with parchment paper.
- 2Combine sugar, salt, cinnamon and cayenne in a small bowl.
- 3In a large bowl, lightly beat egg white until slightly foamy. Stir in sugar mixture until a smooth batter forms.
- 4Fold in pecans until evenly coated. Spread glazed pecans evenly on the prepared baking sheet and bake until pecans are lightly toasted, about 25 minutes.
- 5Let pecans cool on pan, stirring every few minutes to prevent sticking. Once cool, break up any remaining clumps. Pecans can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
