Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Crunchy on the outside and oozy in the middle, this grilled cheese sandwich is the ultimate comfort food. Start with your favorite bread, top with your favorite cheese and you’re well on your way to one of life’s simple pleasures.

Ingredients


Measurements:

  • mayonnaise icon
    1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • Dijon mustard icon
    1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • bread of your choice icon
    2 slices bread of your choice
  • 2 slices of cheese icon
    2 slices of cheese

    or 1/3 cup (1 1/2 oz) shredded cheese

  • butter icon
    ½ oz butter

    at room temperature

Instructions

  • 1Place the mayonnaise and mustard in a small bowl and stir to combine.
  • 2Spread one slice of bread with the mayonnaise mixture. Top with the cheese and the remaining bread.
  • 3Insert the oven rack into position 1 Down and place the roasting pan on the rack. Set the oven to Air Fry, Super Convection, 425°F, for 6 minutes and press Start to preheat. Meanwhile, continue to the next step.
  • 4Spread the bread with half the butter. Turn the sandwich over and spread the other side with the remaining butter.
  • 5Once preheated, place the sandwich in the roasting pan and Air Fry for 6 minutes. When the oven signals, turn the sandwich over and continue cooking.
    Tip: Bread with a higher moisture content, such as sourdough may need longer cooking.
  • 6The bread should be golden brown. If not, press A Bit More. When ready, leave the sandwich in the oven for 1 minute longer to allow the cheese to continue to melt.
    Tip: It may need a little more or a little less extra cooking time, best to keep an eye on it.
  • 7Cut the sandwich in half and serve.
